Step 4: Store your scanned results
All scan data should be stored in an easy to read format and in a accessible location. Historical scan data is particularly useful in performing forensics on a networked system. This gives you the ability to accurately identify changes upon the network.
The NETFOX automatically stores all scan results within its built-in relational SQL database. This allows for the comparison of scan results to the network baseline.
The NETFOX also has a partially open database for the secure transfer data into another database or application for various data presentations.
The NETFOX offers two modules to query the historical data, the Scan History and the IP Forensics modules. The Scan History Module allows you to query the historical data to view the network at any one point in time. The IP Forensics Module allows you to query the historical data in a variety of ways. This module is used to view the data on one particular host. For example if your network is DHCP based you can see the IP/MAC address associations within the NETFOX scan historical data.
